The Chinese Visa Application Service Center to be established in Ottawa

The demand for Chinese visas has grown rapidly in recent years in Canada. In order to provide better services to visa applicants, the Chinese Embassy in Canada has decided to introduce the Chinese Visa Application Service Center (CVASC) in Ottawa. CVASC is responsible for receiving visa applications of ordinary passport holders for visiting mainland China, collecting visa fees on behalf of the Embassy and returning passports with approved Chinese visa to applicants. CVASC is well located in Suite 1450, 220 Laurier Avenue West, Ottawa, and to be opened in mid-June of 2012. The Center offers a more comfortable environment, with a 150-square-metre hall, 8 counters for visa applications and longer operation hours. The Center aims at providing quick, efficient and high-quality services to applicants.

3,Online filling in the visa application form

4,Online appointment for application submission

5,Extended office hours for submitting applications and on site queuing system

6,Postal delivery services of submission of applications and return of processed applications

CVASC will be operated by China Bridge Group (CANADA) Ltd. , a company legally registered in Canada. In accordance with Canadian laws, CVASC will take all measures to protect the safety of applicants' personal information and passports. To ensure CVASC's operation, a service fee will be charged and the rate will be published.

With the opening of the Center, the Chinese Embassy in Canada will continue accepting visa applications submitted by the ordinary passports holders on an online-appointment basis only. Holers of diplomatic, service ( official ) passport, or applicants qualified for the diplomatic, courtesy, service visa, or applicants applying for the Hong Kong visa/entry permit or Macao visa may still submit their applications directly to the Chinese Embassy without on-line appointment.

CVASC has no involvement in the visa assessment and decision-making process. The Chinese Embassy reserves the right to approve or reject visa applications, to decide the type of the visa to be issued, the period of validity, the duration of stay and the number of entry based on China's relevant laws and regulations. The Chinese Embassy also reserves the right to request the applicant to provide additional supporting documents or to come to the Embassy for an interview.
