I would like to avail myself of this opportunity of the approaching Chinese traditional Spring Festival to express my seasonal greetings and best wishes to the all overseas Chinese in Canada and your beloved family members.

2010 marks the complete success of the state visit of President Hu Jintao to Canada, and sees the celebration of the 40th anniversary of the establishment of China-Canada Diplomatic Ties. China and Canada relations hereafter entered into a new stage of development, mirroring its vibrancy in the year of Tiger. 2011 is the initial year of the second 40 years. I firmly believe, with the common endeavor of both China and Canada, our bilateral relations will develop at a quick pace of a jade rabbit, bouncing forward continuously. China and Canada, with our common efforts, will also further enhance the cooperation in different areas, impelling the China-Canada Strategic Partnership in a comprehensive direction.

The numerous overseas Chinese in Canada have been living overseas but emotionally connected with your motherland. You have actively participated in the modernization of China and contributed to the peaceful reunification of China and deepening the friendship between the Chinese and Canadian people. Please accept my sincere gratitude for your deeds. Wish you all an auspicious and successful year of Rabbit and happiness for all the family members! Wish our two peoples a closer friendship! Wish China and Canada relations develop further in the new year!
