Ambassador Lu Shaye Attends Alibaba Group's Gateway' 17 SME Summit

On September 25th, Ambassador Lu Shaye attended the Alibaba Group's Gateway' 17 Summit in Toronto. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau attended the summit and delivered a keynote speech. Jack Ma, Executive Chairman of Alibaba also gave a speech with the topic of "China Opportunity". After the speeches, they had a fireside chat. Canadian Foreign Minister Chrystia Freeland, Minister of Small Business and Tourism Bardish Chagger, Premier of Ontario Kathleen Wynne, and Toronto Mayor John Tory attended and addressed the event. Canadian MP Geng Tan and Mary Ng were also present at invitation. More than 3,600 guests from business circles in different places of Canada participated in this grand summit.

During the event, Ambassador Lu talked with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Jack Ma respectively.

Chinese Consulate-General in Toronto He Wei, Minister-Counsellor for Economic and Commercial Affairs Xia Xiang, and Commercial Counsellor of the Chinese Consulate-General E Defeng were also present at the summit.

During the event, Ambassador Lu met with the delegation led by Jack Ma at the Consulate-General's residence in Toronto.
