Minister-Counsellor Han Tao Attends the Lunar New Year Reception of Nova Scotia

On February 13th, Minister-Counsellor Han Tao of the Chinese Embassy in Canada attended the 2018 Lunar New Year Reception and the Celebration of Friendly Cooperative Relations between Nova Scotia and China held by the government of Nova Scotia in Halifax. In his speech, Minister-Counsellor Han introduced the situation of China’s economic and social development and the development of China-Canada relations in 2017, spoke highly of the fruitful results of friendly cooperation between China and Nova Scotia, and extended New Year greetings to the guests present.

Deputy Premier Karen Lynn Casey, Minister of Agriculture Keith Colwell, Minister of Communities, Culture and Heritage Leo A. Glavine, and Minister of Immigration Lena Metlege Diab of Nova Scotia attended the activity and delivered speeches. Karen Lynn Casey and others stressed that Nova Scotia attaches great importance to developing relations with China and thanked the overseas Chinese for their contributions to economic and social development of Nova Scotia.

It is the first time that the government of Nova Scotia holds a reception celebrating the Chinese Lunar New Year.
