Ambassador Lu Shaye Attends CCLA's Spring Festival Reception

On February 14th, 2018, Ambassador Lu Shaye attended the reception celebrating the Spring Festival held by the Canada-China Legislative Association (CCLA). More than 200 people, including Bardish Chagger, Minister of Small Business and Tourism and Leader of the Government in the House of Commons, Ahmed Hussen, Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship, Co-Chairs of CCLA Senator Joseph Day and MP Tan Geng, Hu Zixiu, Yuen Pau Woo, Guan Huizhen, Chen Shengyuan and Jean Yip and other Chinese-Canadian senators and MPs as well as representatives of overseas Chinese, attended the reception.

Ambassador Lu extended Spring Festival greetings in his speech to the guests and thanked for the positive contributions of the CCLA to promoting the development of China-Canada relations for a long time. Ambassador Lu introduced the current development situation of China-Canada relations and hoped that senators and MPs will continue playing a bridging role in promoting cooperation between China and Canada in various fields and deepening friendship between the two peoples.

Minister Bardish Chagger, Senator Joseph Day and MP Tan Geng spoke highly of the positive development momentum of Canada-China relations and expressed that it is expected to take the Canada-China Year of Tourism in 2018 as an opportunity to deepen cooperation between the two countries in such fields as tourism and education.
