Minister-Counselor Han Tao Attends the Chinese New Year Banquet Held by the CANL

On February 17th, Minister-Counselor Han Tao attended the Chinese New Year Banquet held by the Chinese Association of Newfoundland and Labrador (CANL) in St. John's. More than 370 people were present, including Senator David Wells, Member of the House of Assembly in the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador Bernard Davis, Mayor of St. John's Danny Breen and representatives of local overseas Chinese and Chinese students.

Minister-Counselor Han delivered a speech at the banquet, and introduced the gratifying achievements of China’s economic development and the sound momentum of bilateral cooperation in various fields in 2017. Han thanked the Chinese Association for its efforts to promote the self-development of the Chinese community in Newfoundland and Labrador as well as its integration into local society.

Senator David Wells and other guests spoke positively in their speeches of the development of China-Canada relations in recent years, and affirmed the Chinese Association’s prominent contributions to local economic and social development and multiculture.

At the banquet, the Chinese Association and overseas Chinese students in Newfoundland and Labrador also gave wonderful art performances.
