Ambassador Lu Shaye Attends "Canada-China Tourism Summit"

On January 28th, 2018, Ambassador Lu Shaye attended at invitation the “Canada-China Tourism Summit”, which was hosted by Canadian Chinese Entrepreneurs Council (CCEC) and organized by Sinorama Group, and delivered a keynote speech. Peng Jingtao, Chinese Consul General in Montreal, Robert Beaudry, Member of Montreal Executive Committee of Economic and Commercial Development and Intergovernmental Relations, Yang Wenting, Director of China National Tourist Office in Toronto and over 300 representatives from the tourism industry of both countries attended the activity. Sun Jiwen, Minister Counselor (Economic and Commercial Affairs) of the Chinese Embassy in Canada, and others accompanied Ambassador Lu during the activity.

   
Ambassador Lu pointed out that the two governments have been actively implementing the decisions and deployments of leaders of the two countries for the “Canada-China Year of Tourism” and striving to foster tourism cooperation as a new highlight of China-Canada strategic cooperation. The two-way exchanges of tourists could not only promote cultural exchanges, but also drive economic development, which play a significant role in pushing forward bilateral relations. Ambassador Lu also answered the questions put forward by representatives of the media and the tourism industry on the spot.

   
On the evening of January 27th, Ambassador Lu also attended the CCEC Hockey Night upon invitation and dropped the puck to for the competition.
