Chinese Embassy in Canada Participates in International Food Fair Held by Global Affairs Canada

On November 16th, Chinese Embassy in Canada participated in the International Food Fair held by Global Affairs Canada (GAC) at invitation. Chargé d'Affaires a.i. Heng Xiaojun led embassy staff to the event, during which he held talks with Bruce Christie, Associate Assistant Deputy Minister of GACGlobal Affairs Canada, Roy Norton, Chief of Protocol of GACGlobal Affairs Canada, François Rivest, Executive Director of North Asia Bureau of GACGlobal Affairs Canada and other Canadian officials. The Canadian side spoke highly of the Chinese Embassy’s active support for the cause of public welfare and enthusiasm for activities held by GACGlobal Affairs Canada.

In this fair, specialty foods showcased by over 30 embassies in Canada attracted over 400 officials of GACGlobal Affairs Canada. Special Chinese dishes prepared by the Chinese Embassy gained great popularity.

The International Food Fair, an event co-hosted by GACGlobal Affairs Canada and Government of Canada Workplace Charitable Campaign, is held once a year, and the funds raised at the event would be used for Canada’s national community services.
