At the invitation of the Public Service Commission of Canada, Mr. Wang Ercheng, Vice Minister of the Organisation Department of the Chinese Communist Party Central Committee, visited Canada from 30 August to 3 September 2009. When in Ottawa, Vice Minister Wang held discussions with Ms. Maria Barrados, President of the Public Service Commission of Canada, and toured the Canada School of Public Service. He also attended a welcome luncheon hosted by the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade. He also exchanged views with University of B.C. and University of Toronto when in Vancouver and Toronto. H. E. Mr. Lan Lijun, the Chinese Ambassador to Canada, Mr. Yang Youming, Minister Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy, Mr. Liang Shugen, the Chinese Consul General in Vancouver, and Ms. Zhu Taoying, the Chinese Consul General in Toronto took part in the official functions during the visit.
