BEIJING, Aug. 11 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Vice Premier Li Keqiang told Canada the two countries should view bilateral ties from strategic perspective and properly handle concerns of each other today.

"The two countries should strengthen coordination on finance and push forward bilateral relations along a healthy and stable track," Li said.

He told visiting Canadian Minister of Finance James Flaherty that the steady improvement of Sino-Canadian relations conformed to the interests of the two peoples.

Li said economic development of all countries were interwoven. As the global economic slowdown was still going on, all countries should work together to deal with the major challenges, fight against protectionism and safeguard an open system for global trade and investment.

He said all countries should solve deep-rooted problems in economic growth and contribute to a balanced and orderly development.

Flaherty expressed the hope for extensive cooperation with China in future.
