BEIJING, Aug. 19 (Xinhua) -- General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee Hu Jintao today expressed his condolence to Taiwan people on the death of the Typhoon Morakot victims.

He expressed deep sorrow for the victims.

He made the statement when meeting with a delegation of ethnic minorities from Taiwan, headed by actor-turned politician Kao ChinSu-mei.
