On April 17, Ambassador Cong Peiwu spoke with Premier of British Columbia (BC) John Horgan on the phone.

Ambassador Cong noted, the Chinese side expresses sympathies to BC for its suffering of the COVID-19, as well as the support for the anti-epidemic efforts made by the Canadian federal and BC governments. China is willing to provide medical supplies and other assistance. As the epidemic is the common enemy facing mankind, China is willing to strengthen anti-epidemic cooperation with the international community, including Canada, in a bid to defeat the disease as soon as possible.

John Horgan thanked China for providing anti-epidemic assistance to BC, expressing that BC cherishes the traditional friendship with China and is committed to conducting exchanges and cooperation with China.
