Charge d'Affaires Yang Youming Attending the Opening Ceremony of Second China-Canada-Israel Roundtable on Agri-Innovation

On July 27-28, the Second China-Canada-Israel Roundtable on Agri-Innovation was held in Ottawa. Mr. Yao Yinliang, Vice Governor of Shaanxi Province, participated the roundtable, with his delegation from Yangling Agriculture High-Tech Demonstration Zone. Honorable Stockwell Day, Minister of International Trade Canada, gave a keynote speech at the opening ceremony. Mr. Yang Youming, Charges d'Affaires of the Chinese Embassy attended the opening ceremony and made welcome remarks.

Mr. Yang Youming, on behalf of the Chinese Embassy, congratulated on the convening of this roundtable and thanked the organizers for their hard work. He said that China enjoyed good relations with both Canada and Israel. And the three countries have achieved rapid development in the cooperation in agriculture and other areas, which brought forward concrete benefits to the peoples of three countries. Mr. Yang hoped that this roundtable would not only promote the tri-lateral cooperation in agriculture, but also enhance the all-round development in China-Canada and China-Israel bilateral relations. Finally, Mr. Yang wished the roundtable a success.

The roundtable focused its discussions on the trilateral cooperation mechanism in agriculture high-tech, priorities for agriculture R&D, and definition of an action plan. Apart from the participants from China, Canada and Israel, representatives from Brazil, India, New Zealand and Chile also took part in the roundtable discussions as observers. They spoke highly of this cooperation model and expressed their interest in joining in the multi-lateral science and technology cooperation, including agriculture high technology.
