Science Counsellor Mr. Wang Qiming pays a visit to Calgary on science cooperation with Alberta

Mr. Wang Qiming, the Science Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy in Ottawa paid a visit to Calgary during 19 and 22 July, 2012,Alberta province, looking for strengthening cooperation on science with Alberta, a province with huge opportunity of energy resources, agriculture production and tourisms. Mr. Wang also met officials from the Ministries of Advanced Education and Technology, and International and Intergovernmental Relations, and made a brief of introduction of China’s S&T policies during the 12th Five-Year Plan (2011-2015), as well as reviewed of the progress achieved between Alberta and the Ministry of S&T of China.

While visiting the University of Calgary, Mr. Wang presented a seminar on China’s science policies and outlines of the 12th Five-Year S&T Plans to around 30 attendees including Chinese overseas students and faculty members.
