Ambassador Zhang Junsai Paid Courtesy Call on the Hon. Lawrence Cannon, Minister of Foreign Affairs

On December 14, 2010, H.E. Zhang Junsai, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Canada, paid a courtesy call on the Hon. Lawrence Cannon, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Canada.

Ambassador Zhang first conveyed the warm greetings and best wishes from H.E. Yang Jiechi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of China. He thanked the Canadian government for the convenience and assistance accorded him since his assumption of office. Ambassador Zhang expressed his appreciation and thanks to Minister Cannon for his commitment in developing China-Canada relations. He said, the Chinese side attaches importance to the China-Canada relations and is looking forward to working with the Canadian side to push for new development in the China-Canada strategic partnership.

Minister Cannon welcomed Ambassador Zhang on his assumption of office in Canada. He thanked the Chinese side for the warm hospitality accorded him during his visit to China in October. Mr. Cannon said, he was pleased to see that in recent years, the Canada-China relations have maintained a good momentum of development and two countries have maintained close cooperation in various areas. He indicated that he was ready to work with the Chinese side to push for the healthy and stable development of the bilateral relations.
