Ambassador Zhang Junsai Paid Courtesy Call on the Hon. John Baird, Government House Leader and Minister of Environment

On December 21, 2010, H.E. Zhang Junsai, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Canada, paid a courtesy call on the Hon. John Baird, Leader of the Government in the House of Commons and Minister of the Environment of Canada.

Ambassador Zhang said, at present, China-Canada relations have maintained a good momentum of development. The Chinese side attaches importance to the China-Canada relations and is looking forward to enhancing exchanges and cooperation with Canada in the fields of transportation, energy, environment and tourism so as to push for new development in the China-Canada strategic partnership.

Minister Baird welcomed Ambassador Zhang on his assumption of office in Canada. He said he visited China as Minister of Transport and was impressed by China’s fast economic development and the pace and efficiency of its infrastructure building. He indicated that he was ready to work with the Chinese side to push for the further development of the bilateral relations.
