Ambassador Zhang Junsai meets Speaker of Alberta Legislative Assembly

On May 9, His Excellency Zhang Junsai, Ambassador of the Peoples’ Republic of China to Canada, met with Honorable Ken Kowalski, Speaker of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta.

Ambassador Zhang briefed the Speaker about China’s relations with Canada and Alberta, saying that China-Alberta cooperation in various fields faces new opportunities.

Ambassador Zhang expressed his appreciation for Alberta’s training assistance to China’s winter sports and said that he is ready to further enhance China and Alberta’s cooperation and exchange in sports.

Speaker Kowalski noted that China and Alberta have all along respected and trusted each other and expressed his admiration for China’s remarkable progress as the largest emerging economy. The Speaker said that exchange in commerce, trade, culture and sports is indispensable to deepening mutual understanding and friendship between the Chinese and Canadian people. The Speaker hoped to see China-Alberta cooperation achieve more results.
