Song Tao Meets with National Security Advisor to the Canadian Prime Minister

Ottawa, January 26th—Song Tao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee met here today with Daniel Jean, National Security Advisor to the Canadian Prime Minister.

Song introduced the main spirit and international influence of the 19th CPC National Congress. He stressed that the Congress has planned China’s development blueprint from now to the middle of this century, and declared China’s sincere willingness to promote the building of a community with a shared future for mankind and to co-construct a better world with all sides, which will bring new opportunities to the development of China-Canada relations. China stands ready to make joint efforts with Canada to well implement the important consensus reached by leaders of both countries, deepen exchanges and cooperation in various fields and enhance communication and coordination on international and regional issues, so as to boost relations between both countries for sustainable, sound and stable development.

Daniel Jean expressed that Canada attaches importance to the great significance and the world influence of the 19th CPC National Congress, and believed the Congress has not only formulated the grand blueprint for China’s future development, but brought new opportunities to the development of relations between both countries. Canada pays high attention to bilateral relations, and hopes to deepen communication and cooperation in such areas as security, rule of law and people-to-people and cultural engagement between the two countries, and strengthen communication and coordination on international and regional issues, in a bid to jointly cope with global challenges.
