Chinese Embassy in Canada Took Part in WaterCan2009 Diplomatic Missions' Charity

        In the evening of May,8^th, 2009, diplomats from about 50 diplomatic missions in Canada took part in the famous annual WaterCan Diplomatic Missions' Charity held in Ottawa. Minister Counsellor Yang Youming of the Chinese Embassy attended the event. Around 650 guests from business and political circles in Canada were present.

 

       The participating missions provided homeland food, beverage, tourist brochures and donations for charity auction. At the Chinese stand, well-prepared traditional Chinese food were served by young Chinese diplomats dressed in various ethnic costumes. The stand became an attraction for the event, and drew a long queue of guests, they spoke highly of the tasty food and showed great interest in the souvenirs and brochures.

 

      This year marked the 22^nd WaterCan Diplomatic Missions' Charity. For the past 22 years, it has helped raising a large sum of money for supporting the clean water programs in Africa. The Chinese Embassy has taken an active part in the event for many years, and has been highly appreciated.
